Miss Carley Bolding from Texas USA
Carley 7 y.o. is truly a role model for our TaekwonKids when it comes to Taekwon-Do. She has just been graded and passed her blue belt on Friday 18 November 2011 at her dojang in Mansfield Texas USA by Mr. Chris Poteet. Monday, Carley and her parents arrived in Sydney for a 2 weeks holiday and she was looking forward to have a session with our TaekwonKids at Burwood Dojang. It was her very memorable training because she wore her new belt for the first time out of USA. We all look forward to seeing her again one day in the future. Good Luck Carley.

5-11-2011 Special Technique Workshop in Wagga

Mr. Vitaly Kachnov is a famous and honoured Russian coach who has coached many Russian competitors to several ITF World Championships with very successful results. Senior Master Linda Low invited him to Perth to conduct a session for our WA ITF members and followed by his kindness to share his "secret" knowledge with us in Wagga Wagga. The session in Wagga was very interesting and we all learned a different approach to executing the special techniques. Thanks to sabum Philip Fitzgerald-Holmes for hosting the session at his dojang and a big Thank You to Mr. Kachnov.

Technical Seminar by Senior Master Tam
All sports including martial arts
improve their techniques over time. There is no exception with ITF techniques and pattern but not without research and tested. Senior Master Tam would like his students to be kept updated with the techniques and movements. Hence, after attending the technical seminar by Grandmaster Hwang and the umpire seminar by Grandmaster Leong recently in Pyongyang DPRK, he quickly conducted a technical seminar for his jejas with the approval from ITFHQ. The first of the series of this seminar was so well attended by the senior jejas that they have for the next one already.

85th Grading Results
This 85th grading marks the first grading by the examiner under his new title as Senior Master. This is also a very memorable grading as there were 7 students went for their 1st Dan and one for 5th Dan. The performance of all students were very good and this made Senior Master Tam and all his students very happy and proud with their results.
Congratulations to all who sat for their test and also a big thank you to everyone who helped and supported the grading. All certificates issued are ITF and All Australian ITF Taekwon-Do Association (National Governing Body) recognised.

Jacek Leszczynski gets full support from Dubbo communities for his big trip to the ITF World Taekwon-Do Championship.
Under a month our local hero will be flying out to Beijing and a connecting flight to Pyongyang to take part in the ITF 17th World Championship. There will be over 70 countries participating in this fiercely contested championship. All competitors are of high caliber and Jacek will be taking them on in the Team Free Sparring and Special Technique Division.

Recently Jacek along with his dojangmates, Brison and sister Musk Chow and Jerry Xu put up a demo at the Dubbo Community Women`s Association Hall to introduce the Taekwon-Do art of self defense. Supporters were overwhelmed with their performance and were surprised with little Musk defense skills. A successful fundraiser in conjunction with the demo was warmly welcome and assisted Jacek in every which way they can.

On behalf of Jacek, Tam`s Budo would like to thank all supporters, families, friends and Taekwonmates, Dojangmates for your kind donations and fundraising through the demo, purchasing of t-shirts and hoodies. Also a big thank you to Sabum Raymond Sue for
designing and organising the fundraiser through the T-shirts and hoodies for Sahyun and Jacek.

31-7-2011 Tam`s Budo Academy ITF Taekwon-Do Black Belt-Only Training.
It was a perfect morning and the weather has started to warm up again. What else is better than getting together for a black belt-only training session and discuss about technical details with Master Tam, the ITF Technical & Education Committee Member. These hard core black belts enjoyed the session and looking forward to the next training.

84th Tam`s Budo Academy Taekwon-Do Grading at Burwood Dojang 19-6-2011

DSC_0469.JPG
The morning came with a  perfectly bright sunshine after loosing count how many days Sydney was pelted down with sky juice. The air was cool; cold in fact in the dojang  in the first hour and that I thought it must have frozen some nerves of some students.

Sunday 19 June has been in minds of many jeja`s; all aiming to perform and show off their Taekwon-Do skills to be promoted to their next Gup. I arrived early to find that Jacek has already placed the mats down to save our freezing toes and Roman was accompanied by his family....one of his young lad was also grading together with his jejas. So mathematically 75% of Myaskovetskiys are now Taekwon-Do exponents. Don`t mess with them! Mark Balfour slipped into his dobok and made sure his jejas were spot on with their techniques and gave warm encouragements with great patience.. It was pleasant to see Keffe came along and help out while Boosabum Mayumi was a great help with the grading forms and commanding together with Jacek.

Frozen nerves were thawed and many jejas were turned into hot tournament sparring mode. I reminded everyone that sparring in grading defers from tournament styles. One must not forget to display their full potential by utilizing makgis/blocks learned from their tuls/pattern.
Some were very quick to respond and adapted themselves very well into the requirements to show their defending skills and not only attacking all the time.

Overall we had a good grading result from all grading jejas. When asked, all of them answered "we strive to better our grading marks and further improve our standard. Train Hard Train Smart".
Thanks goes to Mayumi, Jacek, Roman and Keffe.
And what followed after hours of grading 26 jejas?..yummy lunch together with Ray and all the black belts at Kwok Doo Restaurant which was once our sponsor to the World Championship.
Check out some photos from the grading in the gallery page and don`t forget :next grading at Sabum Amanda Morrison Woy Woy Central Coast Dojang on Saturday 25 June 2011. There will be tul and matsogi workshop. All black belts will be attending and gup jejas are welcome.

NSW ITF Open Championship Wagga Wagga 28-5-2011

26 competitors represented our club to the championship and returned with excellent result. Our team left Sydney on Friday at 1pm in the safe hand of Roman; driving them in a bus with some parents and supporters. Sahyun and his family left about the same time and catching up with the team at Pheasant Nest. Master Tam wanted to make sure everyone on board are relaxed but mentally prepared for the big day. Everyone were enjoying the trip and had fun.
Arriving at 7pm at the motel in Wagga Wagga the team was still full of energy but was looking forward to a nice meal at the Farmers Hotel. Sabum Alan arrived shortly to join in the dinner. Thanks Sabum Alan for looking after the team. The meal was really nice and the team was entertained by Jerry`s hilarious game.

The next morning everyone woke up early and made their way to the championship venue for registration. It was very nice to have Hari`s supporters turned up too. The atmosphere seems a little like a mini world tournament. Cheering from Nepal and Poland excited the crowd and competitors.

Our team turned out to be very successful in pattern as well as sparring. Highlight of the event went to Paulina against Amy. Paulina gave it all she had to Amy and Amy was feeling the pressure. In the end Amy came out as winner with her vast experience. Paulina wasn`t told that Amy is a world contender until after the bout. The fight might be different if she new it earlier and not having a cut lip!

Poor Jacek had a fight of a time...broken his nose but still attended the after-party after staying in the hospital for more than 3 hours. What makes these two so tough...maybe it is the banner..Polska!
