I started training in Taekwon Do when I was in Kindergarten. I was scared because there were so many things I had to remember. I had to learn patterns and how to count in Korean. I was also really afraid to break my first ever board. I'm not scared any more, and have even done a demonstration in school assembly.
I learnt that it was OK to be scared, but just to do things anyway. I felt really worried about sparring because I was expecting to get a little hurt, but I didnt. I like going in competitions because I make new friends. I'm a senior colour belt now, so I have to be a good role model for the kids just starting. I like helping them because it shows I'm being responsible. Autumn 2020
My son, Xavier, has been enrolled with Tam Taekwon-Do Mudokwan or over two years. During this time Grand Master Tam has pushed Xavier to always do his best in class. Like many activities, Covid-19 made face to face training impossible. Grand Master Tam implemented a coaching and evaluation process via video, allowing Xavier to continue with Taekwon-Do training during isolation. I appreciate the effort & commitment Grand Master Tam and his team showed during such challenging times.
