In one week’s time I will be competing in the CHITF Taekwon-Do Championship in Goulburn. I feel much more confident and much more prepared as I’ve been lucky to attend TST under the excellent teaching of Grand Master Tam, Sabum Mayumi and his great instructors.
TST is a fun way to improve my overall fitness and help give me strategies to defeat my opponents in sparring. TST also helps me improve my pattern and brings me one step closer to reaching@my 2nd Dan Black Belt. -Jawaad Hage - TTM Rockdale dojang

So to me, TST is a place for me to work and improve on my pattern and sparring. You would have teammates who can watch you and tell you what you are doing wrong as they and the coaches can recommend you some ideas to work on your techniques.
My TST training has been amazing as versing or partnering with someone who’s bigger and stronger than me. That makes me want to do better and beat Phillip in the future. Alas I pulled my hams!! ( a great compliment for Philip being the best!) - Joe Lee- .With the CHITF Taekwon-Do Championship coming up around the corner, this summer, Team TTM has been training furiously to put our best foot forward. Grand Master Tam and his team of instructors have generously donated their time to help us so that while others are sleeping, we are punching and kicking through the sweat and dirt. Each training session consisted of fine tuning our hand and foot techniques, so they are executed with sharpness and accuracy. This was followed by an intense sparring session that simulated real tournament situations. By the end, no one was left without a sweat soaked dobok or tired muscles. Not only was it a great workout, it greatly increased our confidence in our ability to perform in the upcoming competition. I would highly recommend anyone attend these world-class training sessions to become tournament ready, but most importantly, to be with your fellow dojang mates and have fun. Photos credit- Mr Tu Tran and Mr Andrew Chau For most people, December marks the end of a chapter as a new one begins and this is no exception for the students and family of Tam Taekwon-Do Mudokwan. On Sunday 8th December, the final grading of the decade took place at Auburn Youth Centre. This was also the first grading since Grandmaster Tam’s promotion to the esteemed level of 9th Dan black belt. The day was not only an opportunity for students to showcase the skills that they have learned in classes, but it was also a day to celebrate the hard work of students and instructors, and the efforts of family members who continue to be TTM students’ biggest supporters. The morning commenced with the grading of black belts then colour belts, with each student demonstrating their knowledge of Taekwon-Do skills in pattern, self-defence and sparring, as well as their theoretical knowledge. The grading concluded with breaking from red belt black tips who all did an outstanding job at breaking a number of boards with a large crowd eagerly watching at the sidelines. After grading, students performed demonstrations of self-defence and breaking, exhibiting their hard work and outstanding skills. This was performed by students from Burwood dojang; Ethan Li, Tanya Liu, Alysha & Ashly Chau and Chloe Liu. This was followed by an exciting demonstration of board and tile breaking by the black belts – Sabum Jacek Leszczynski, Boosabum Amanda Lokanadan, Boosabum Roman Myaskovetskiy, Samantha Tam, Chris Lai, Richard Chan, Jeremy Dang and Jawaad Hage. Grandmaster Tam even broke some tiles too, performing a turning kick using the shins to shatter the tiles in his suit! Not only did he make the demolition of tiles look like a walk in the park but he also managed to keep his suit immaculate! The demonstrations were followed by an award ceremony to celebrate exceptional individuals for their consistency and dedication to Taekwon-Do throughout the year. Congratulations to all of the recipients! The day was wrapped up with a big Taekwon-Do family photo and a hearty luncheon was enjoyed by everyone in attendance. A big thank you to the parents, who brought food to the luncheon, for making the day memorable (and delicious). Undoubtedly, there were no empty stomachs leaving Auburn Youth Centre that afternoon. This was one of the biggest grading with 104 students being graded in a single day. And this was no easy grading; these students were graded by GM Tam and Sabum Mayumi themselves, so they were sure to have had a tough examination! Taekwon-Do is not something that just happens every few months at a grading. It is an ongoing commitment that requires unwavering, hard work. Each student’s involvement is an important contribution to the high standard TTM holds, whether it is through helping out classmates with their techniques, taking your kids to lessons even after a long day at work, or cheering for your friends at tournaments! Finally, thank you to Grandmaster Tam. Your passion for Taekwon-Do is inspiring and what a privilege it is to be trained by you! Thank you for everything that you do, during and outside of training hours. We hope you get enough rest before the New Year begins. Wishing everyone a safe and happy holiday. We look forward to seeing you back at TTM for an even more exciting year in 2020! -Wendy Song and Izumi Tam Congratulations to our newest black belt and welcome on board TTM Black Belt Club Black belt 1st Dan

Biggest congratulations to Grand Master/Sasung Tam! The latest International Taekwon-Do Federation Congress held in Plovdiv, Bulgaria unfolded events that gives me the pleasure to announce that Master F.C.Tam was promoted to 9th Dan. The 9th Dan is the highest and most distinguished level in Taekwon-Do and to achieve this requires tumultuous dedication to the art and to the people who practice it. Learning and teaching TKD for over 4 decades, itself accentuates and reflects Master Tam's assiduity to General Choi's vision of emulating tradition into martial arts. TTM and the wider Taekwon-Do community is extremely delighted to congratulate your latest achievement. We look forward for you to continue to share your knowledge here at TTM. The title of Master Tam is now Grand Master. Congratulations.
We are excited to congratulate the Australian team on their participation and achievement in the recent world championship. TTM's very own members (Grace.W, Ceco.D, Sabum Jacek.L and Sabum Mayumi.T) were amongst the team that were recognised for their indomitable spirit and courageous efforts. Most notable mention goes to Sabum Mayumi.T for attaining Gold in pattern & Silver in Sparring, and Ceco.D for Silver in team breaking. Thank you to all TTM sponsors, friends and Sahuyn Tam for supporting the World Championship team. The grading was held at Rockdale Dojang. The standard of students have certainly improved. We had 4 years old candidate first time in TTM history! Thanks to the great effort of the very dedicated instructors.
